New project report from Laos

We have made significant progress in the current phase of the project ‘Future opportunities through sustainable agriculture and climate protection’ in Laos. With your support, we have been able to strengthen the livelihoods of rural communities in a sustainable manner. Training and start-up capital have given young people the opportunity to set up agricultural businesses. We also promoted climate-resilient farming methods and the expansion of local water supplies to enable food security and future prospects.

Some of our successes:
• Two agricultural learning centres were fully constructed and equipped – including greenhouses, aquaculture, poultry and insect breeding facilities.
• 8,000 kg of rice were produced via newly built or renovated rice banks.
• 34 young entrepreneurs received micro-grants to set up agricultural businesses.
• 723 people took part in climate awareness campaigns, during which 153 trees were planted by schoolchildren.
• 5,980 people gained improved access to the local water supply.
With your help, we were able to reach important milestones in the project and create a stable foundation for a climate-resilient and economically secure future.

Thank you very much for your support.
